Farm Manager

We are seeking a candidate who is an experienced individual with strong production farming skills (organic and regenerative/restorative practices), strong interest in experiential education and a demonstrated commitment to racial, economic, food and environmental justice. The Farm Manager plays an integral role in the leadership team of Ekar Farm, sharing responsibility in advancing Ekar Farm’s mission. The Farm Manager leads the operation of our non-profit, production and educational farm (18,000+ pounds grown on 1 acre last season), with the equally important goal of maintaining the farm as a site for community engagement, community education, and advocacy for social justice and food systems equity. If this is right for you, you’ll already have the ability to work across and within diverse teams and multicultural communities, where understanding and appreciating differences is essential. You’ll also bring a deep understanding and fluency with the administrative part of farming: crop planning, harvest data management, crew scheduling/management, IPM, soil care, irrigation and more. We’re looking for an individual to become a key member of our small but mighty team, to fully engage and support educational agricultural operations.

Farm Crew

We are seeking committed farmers who are able to commit to a part-time schedule (4 hours per day, 5 days per week). Workdays will typically run from 7am to 11am, though schedules may vary depending on weather. We do not work in extreme weather (95+ degrees, smoke, rain, snow)!  Ekar operates Sunday through Friday and we are seeking farmers able to commit to 5 shifts per week within these days of operation. All levels of experience are welcome to apply!
